I am such a fan of Gerda Steiners very cute and whimsical drawings.
Starring the Cats in Drawers Stamp Set
So fun and make a card since the design lends itself to be a front and center focal point. I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink leaving room at the bottom for a sentiment.
Choosing a simple style of coloring, emphasis was given by adding depth and shadows to make this sweet image stand out.
To add depth and shadowing I selected several hues of the same colors building them from light to dark in certain areas.
To keep a light fresh look to the card, I chose to use pinks, greens, and blues with a balance of neutral beige and grays. I like to choose three to four of the same color family to blend for dimension. The sweet kitties were highlighted by keeping the dresser minimal in color.
Any markers are fine for coloring. My coloring medium of choice for alcohol markers are either Copic or Ohuhu. For this card I used Ohuhu Pastels. My tip for selecting colors is to use the same paper and sample each color next to other colors by drawing a long line next to your selected colors. This will help you ensure color compatibility.
Blues: B06, BG310
Greens: G43, G41
Pinks: YR58, YR56, R15, RV05,
Neutrals: CG24, WG10, YGY11, YR33, TR06, E46
